Elizabeth Singleton Obituary

God saw the road was rough, the hills were hard to climb, so he gently closed her eyes and said, "Peace be thine."
Elizabeth Redd Singleton, 82, of Winston-Salem, N.C., and formerly of Roanoke, Va., departed this life on Saturday, November 29, 2008. She was born on February 14, 1926, in Martinsville, Va. She was the daughter of the late William Redd and Estelle Arrington Redd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie G. Singleton Jr. Elizabeth was a member of First Baptist Church, Salem, Va., before moving to North Carolina where she joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. She also attended Mt. Zion Senior Life Enrichment Center. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted son, Willie G. (Cheryl) Singleton III; two sisters, Ollie Jamerson, of San Bernardino, Calif., and Rowena Martin, of Martinsville, Va.; three grandchildren, Monica, Michael and Courtney; one great-grandchild, Kamran, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2008, in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with the Rev. Carl Anderson officiating. The interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Friends may call on Friday afternoon, December 5, 2008, for viewing at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home. Little Willie,
I will miss Aunt Elizabeth calls to Mom. She never miss a week calling and talking to her. Even,Mom wasn't home she find her. She call me and ask if Mom at my house. We will continue to keep in touch and visit each other. My prayers are with you and your family.
