Costoline Turner Obituary

Costoline Ayers Turner, 84, of Bedford, Va., passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2008, at the Bedford County Nursing Home. She was born on Saturday, October 18, 1924, in Bedford County, Va., a daughter of the late Mose P. Ayers and the late Ollie Jane Overstreet Ayers. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Kyle, Russell, Elmo, Loyd, and Carlton Odell Ayers; and a sister, Evelyn Walker. She was a retired employee of Rubatex Corporation and was a member of Pecks Baptist Church. Surviving is her husband of 63 ½ years, James Ray Turner Sr.; daughter, Patricia Goode and husband, Vernon; two sons, James Ray Turner Jr. and wife, Mary, and Billy Wayne Turner and wife, Rita; five grandchildren, Richard Goode and wife, Tracy, Traci Bratton and husband, Steve, James Ray Turner III and wife, Tomi, Tommy Turner and wife, Wendy, and Wayne Turner; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Alonso P. "Tom" Ayers and wife, Delores; a sister, Jane Hale and husband, Goggin; and two sisters-in-law, Hazel Ayers and Ellen Ayers. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at Pecks Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan D. Sheehan officiating. Interment will follow in Pecks Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford, Va.
