Louise Shaw Obituary

Louise Adcock Jamison Shaw, 94, of Salem, Va., passed away Friday, November 28, 2008. She was born January 18, 1914 in Buckingham County, Va., a daughter of the late William H. and Birdie Lou Ragland Adcock. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, David Homer Jamison and George W. Shaw, thirteen brothers and sisters, and a son-in-law, Tom Farley. She is survived by three daughters, Norma Jamison Francisco and husband, Jimmy, of Salem, Judith (Judy) Jamison Voigt and husband, Allan, of Mentor, Ohio and Mary Lou Jamison Farley, of Roanoke; five grandchildren and spouses, Ann and Louis Ashamallah, of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Valerie Voigt, of Bay Village, Ohio, Kari and Darin Elam, of Eastlake, Ohio, Erik Voigt and fiancée, Alexandra White, of Chicago, Ill and David and Jodie Farley, of Roanoke; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Logan Ashamallah and Reagan Farley; sisters-in-law, Muriel Craig and Vivian Adcock; extended family, Margie Shaw Gish and husband, Mike, of Norfolk, Nancy Shaw Zeigler and husband, Wayne, of Big Island and all of their families; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Tressie Lyle.
Memorial services will be conducted 3 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2008 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem, with the Rev. Janet Denton officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem.
The family of Mrs. Shaw would like to thank Dr. Ross Murchison and Dr. Daniel Tu for their care and concern. Also the family would like to thank the staff of the Mt. Pavilion S.P.C.U., for the care of our mother and their many kindnesses. At the request of Mrs. Shaw, the family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in her name to the Catawba-Mason Cove Rescue Squad or to a charity of your choice.

Louise, you will be terribly missed. You meant so much to me and I loved you dearly. I am filled with so many wonderful memories of coming to visit you and grandpop; you always made us feel welcome and very special. I love you and God Bless You.
