Not sure what to say?

It is with great sadness that I read these notes. Tony was a wonderful person. It is far to early in Tony's life to read these types of notes.

I'm proud to say that he was an inspiration to me connecting me with a wider view of music than I would ever had the opportunity to enjoy without his perspective. I always enjoyed his company and outlook.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the Romagnolo Family and friends at this time. Nena, I only had the honor and the pleasure of meeting your son, Tony once and that was at my son's wedding last year where he was part of the bridal party. I will remember Tony as a gentle, caring, and loving person with a bright smile. I remember getting Tony out on the dance floor dancing with David's four sister's and I all at the same time. It was very touching to see him having such a great time and enjoying life!! I am so grateful that your son was an important part of my son's life. These are the memories I will always have of Tony and his friendship between him and my son. He will be sorely missed by all. Please know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers, and we pray that your faith will give you the strength to help you through this difficult time in your lives. May he rest in peace and his memory live on forever!

From one son's Mother to another:

Love,

I grew up with Tony's sister Tina and always thought he was such a fun guy. Even though he was older he never seemed to get annoyed that we all wanted to hang with him and that made him even cooler. I am so sorry that he's gone. Tina, Nena, Art, etc. please know I love you guys and I'm thinking about you.

Tony,
You were like an older brother to me. from the times you spent tormenting me and your sister to the times you pulled me into your room to let me listen to what you had just laid down on your 4 track or the new Pleasure Void song.
I cherish the friendship that developed as we grew older and hold the memories of our adventures dear.
You live forever in my heart Tony Romagnolo.

My friendship with Tony has been the longest and closest of my life. I’ve never known anyone else with such a powerful combination of intellect, talent, and passion for life. I keep thinking about all the times we spent together, going to shows, racing over country roads in the middle of the night, debating this or that, and sharing ideas with energy and passion. I remember most the times we laughed until tears streamed down our faces and we could no longer speak – he laughed with everything he had in him. Sitting in the house we shared, no money, no heat, no reasonable prospects for success or happiness; we were sure we’d reach a better place as we laughed at everything around us.

Tony’s capacity to love people was as boundless as his musical talent and passion for living. I loved him so much. I don’t understand how he can be gone, but if there is a better place then, certainly, someone who loved and was loved as much as Tony is there.

Tony,
I watch for you to come in evey day, but now that is no longer true.
You smiling face made the day for just about everyone. Getting me through thick and thin helped me so much. Even through the busy times, you found a few min to help me out. I will never forget that, "My Friend".

Nena: From my family to yours, our heart felt condolences to you and your family. There are some people that you never forget; they stay with you always; you have been one of them. I loved to see you smile; your son had that smile. You always made me laugh; no doubt you did just that with Tony. I have always admired your stenghth and courage -Tony lived that stenght and courage; you taught him that - and know they will be there for you once again to draw upon. Those precious memories of Tony that will eternally be with you all will now guide all of you through the healing process and will help you prevail during this difficult time. I keep you wrapped tighter in my prayers and love as we all do and know that we are here for you; you are not alone.

Nena & Art,

Although it's hard to understand just why these things must be, may you find some comfort in these words of sympathy and in the thought that memories of the things he did and said will keep Tony close to you through all the days ahead.

You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers and I'm here if you need me.

Frank, Sherry, Nina, Art, Tina,
I just couldn't believe it when I heard Tony was gone. I am so sorry we will not be able to be with you. Tamara and I will be there in spirit. We all will remember the wonderful, talented young man that Tony had become. I have many fond memories of him growing up that I will always hold dear to my heart. I was so proud that he became a bass player like his Uncle Rex, (well better than his Uncle Rex). If I know Tony he will be up in heaven jamming with the greats and finding some way to tap into this website to read the comments from his family and friends. You were truly loved by so many.

Tony,
You're a great guy, a wonderful friend, a good co-worker, and someone I always enjoyed chatting with. We chatted about music, Star Trek, among other things, and shared music and you opened me up to some really good bands. Your band, Translucia, rocks and I still enjoy listening to the music you gave me.
I wish I had spent more time getting to know you, playing Star Trek: Bridge Commander and just hanging out with you.
Tony, I miss you and will never forget you.

Tony, you were one of the first people that I knew and could talk to at work. I've always enjoyed your conversation, your bright eyes and smile, and friendliness. There is no one else at work that I can pass by and say hello to that responds so favorably or that brightens my day quite like you did. I will always miss that.

Tony was one of the great friends of my life, ever since we started Pleasure Void together in 1988. Despite the years and the miles, the bond was never broken.

My life is diminished by his absence, as though a hole has been shot through my heart. I can't believe we spoke just a few weeks ago, and now he is gone forever.

I miss his philosophical thoughtfulness, his warm heart, his enormous musical talent. All the laughter. So many good times. I really thought that one day we would play together again. I am in anguish over this terrible loss.

Rest in peace, my brother. I will love and miss you forever.

My heartfelt condolences go out to the Romagnolo Family at this time. Tony was an integral part of Roanoke's alternative music family, during a time period in the early 90's when there really was an actual scene. He will be sorely missed.

Tony,
It hasn't hit me yet that you're gone. I still expect to run into you in the cafeteria and talk about beer, computers, cars, or work. It won't be the same at Pictometry without your smiling face.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Tony's passing. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends. Tony and I got to know each other through our mutual interest in astronomy and space exploration. We had many great conversations about current missions and new discoveries.

Our Pictometry family has been greatly diminished. I will miss Tony's friendly smile and good nature.

Tony,

I will miss your quirky personality that was always warm and inviting. I will miss the conversations we had on WWII planes and video games. I will miss just saying hi to you. You are in my thoughts and I will miss you.

There is a pronounced emptiness driving home from work these days.
I miss Tony's company. We would often discuss events of the day and what went on during the weekend's NASCAR events and how his cyber-activities were progressing. We'd often discuss racing at different tracks: he on the internet, me in the real thing.

My dearest comrade....

Words alone cannot express the loss that I feel at your all too sudden departure from this world...

You have never been far from my mind....even when hundreds of miles separated us.
And the memories of all the great times I experienced in your company will remain among my most cherished.

For all the greatness of our Pleasure Void past however....it was the thought of working with you again that perhaps meant even more to me.

For I have missed you terribly....

And will continue to for the rest of my life.

Rest in peace dear friend.
You certainly have earned it in the happiness you brought to all who knew you.

My life will always be the better for it.

And I will ever be indebted to you for that.

Thank you for playing the role you did in my life.
You will never be forgotten.

love

When my wife called me and Told me about Tony, I wouldn't believe it until I actually saw this online. Now it is with a heavy heart that I say goodybye to the Person that I considered to be my very first best friend. Having lived just down the street, I still remember all the good times. Pretending to be Gene Simmons from Kiss with a mouth full of kethup packets, The day we 'might' have accidentally ate his mom's summit candy bar. To this day, these and many other memories still make me smile. One of the last things we did together Before my family moved out of town, was to go to the movies to see Flash Gordon. Regretfully, we lost touch after that, but the memories are still there and as vivid as ever. That I believe shows the impact he had on anyone lucky enough to know him. I know that I will never forget. Please accept my most heartfelt condolences.

Tony,
You were so important to me, and I wish I had told you that recently. You made me smile when no one else could. You were one of the most naturally skilled musicians I've ever met, and getting to play with you in Pleasure Void will always be one of the great highlights of my life. Just seeing you in the moment, playing your heart out...well, that's how I'll always remember you...so free and young and deliriously happy. You were also the sweetest, kindest person... I never have come in contact with anyone, not one person EVER, that didn't just adore you.
I miss you already. I firmly believe that the world is a much brighter place because you were in it.
Your old friend,
Monica

Tony worked with us at Pictometry for almost 3 years, he was an integral part of our team. The only pieces of his personal life that I know about came from talks with him about Cars, motorcycles, video games, Nascar, Star Trek, computers, etc. He had an infectious, excited passion about all the things he touched. That's what I'm going to miss the most- watching his eyes light up when he told me stories like that 10-string stick bass guitar and what he would do with it. "It's Siiick!".
I'm gonna miss that. More people need to get that excited about life.

The emotional response from work has been huge, I really hope he realized how many people cared about him.
