Elizabeth Ayares Obituary

Elizabeth Ayares, 80, of Blacksburg, Va., died on Monday, December 8, 2008, at her home. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on February 10, 1928, to the late George and Elizabeth Kormann Verrall. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Ayares, of Blacksburg; daughter, Linda Ayares, of New York City; sons and daughtersin-law, Joseph Ayares and wife, Jill, of Crystal Lake, Ill., and David Ayares and wife, Terri, of Blacksburg; grandchildren, Josh Ayares and wife, Wyndy, Jeremy Ayares and wife, Sashire, Jenna Ayares, Alicia Ayares, Kaitlyn Ayares, and Michael Ayares; greatgrandchildren, Hannah, Logan, Aiden and Arlo; sister-in-law and spouse, Jane and Tony Mangano; and several nieces and nephews and dear friends. She shared her joy of life with every person she met. Memorial services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2008, in the Northside Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Linda Dickerson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 1125 Roanoke St., S.E., Christiansburg, Va. 24073. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening, December 12, 2008, at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg, Va.

Joe and family; Our sympathies for your loss. Betty's smile and the twinkle in her eye will always come to mind when we think of her. Our lives became so much more interesting with the friendship and experiences we shared. Many of our best memories include the two of you.
