Elinor Clines Phelps

Elinor Clines Phelps, 83, of Roanoke, Va., and formerly of Clinton, Md., died on Thursday morning, December 11, 2008, peacefully at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis A. Phelps; and is survived by her brother and his wife, Thomas and Heidi Clines, of Bedford, Va.; a son, Louis Phelps, of Brunswick, Ga.; brother-in-law, Harry Waddle, of Huddleston, Va.; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friends. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. A Funeral Mass in her honor will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, December 15, 2008, at St. Andrews Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Thomas G. Miller officiating. Interment will be private at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, Md., at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105 in Elinor's memory.
