Doug and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I just by chance was looking through the obits and found this. I would have been there had I known in time. Warren was always so good to me when I worked at the hardware. I know he will be missed by all who ever knew him. He was a very good boss and a very good man.

Doug and Beth-

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember working with you dad at the CSHS "chain gang" a few years ago, which was a great experience--to see how you got to spend quality time like that with your dad was awesome. I will be thinking about you and your family, and I'm here if you need me.

Doug ( and family ) A long time ago, 1970, your dad took me into his house and transported me back and forth to the airport so I could be with my family when we escaped from VMI. To this day I remember his kindness and recognized what a blessing he was as your father. Peace to you and your family. .

To the Basham family
As you know I met Warren in '72 when I moved to Roanoke & then joined the Cave Spring Rescue Squad.I first met Warren when he was standing on a ladder in his store on Brambleton. The wood floor & the way Warren was just emulated a hardware store guided by Warren's knowledge & compassion for others.Ya'll will never know how much Warren help guide me(as well as others I'm sure)thru life. His obvious love and pride of his family is a fantastick item ya'll should dear forever.Whenever I dropped by while on patrol Warren always said thanks. That ment a lot to a new Deputy . To be appricated by Warren is something I will hold dear forever. Warren never waivered/changed thru the years. He was what ya see is what ya get. He has passed that on to his sons. I'll never enjoy working the "Chain Gang" @ the CSHS football games as much as I did when Warren was there. His dedication to his community can't be challenged by anyone.
I will really miss my talks & time spent with Warren.
My best to all of Warren's family.
