He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War and was an Optician with U.S. Vision in Christiansburg and was a member of Brick Presbyterian Church in Bricktown, New Jersey. Mark is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Eileen D. Hermanni Boyd; daughter, Kimberly Basile, Trenton, New Jersey; son, Ryan Boyd, Las Vegas, Nevada; two grandchildren; brother, Michael Boyd, Rockwall, Texas; and his sister-in-law, Marie Szorosy, Jackson, New Jersey. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2008. The family will receive friends Wednesday prior to the service beginning at 6 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount. "My beloved husband, Mark, you have been a constant source of love and joy in my life and my heart will be joined to yours for all eternity. Graced with your presence, everyone loved, valued, and appreciated your quick-wit, loving nature, sensitivity, and generosity, but none more than I. You once defined the measure of a successful man by the happiness he brought to his wife. You, my darling, by all measures, passed away successful beyond all imaginings."

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help at this time.
Mark was a very sweet man, and I feel honored to have been able to work with him. He had a special way of lighting up a room and making you laugh, even when he didn't all that great. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

We send our condolences. I worked with the father of Mark. I would golf with them when Mark was visiting his parents.
