William Grant Obituary

William Edward Grant, 71, of Boones Mill, went to be with our Lord Sunday, December 14, 2008. He was born January 10, 1937, and was preceded in death by his father, Grady Turner; son, William Timothy Grant. Mr. Grant was retired from North American Housing after 35 years of service. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy R. Grant, of Roanoke; son, Edward L. Grant, of Roanoke; mother, Dorothy Turner, of Rocky Mount; brother, Buddy Turner and wife, Ava; and nephew, J.C. Turner, of Callaway; grandchildren, Timothy and Joseph Grant, Denise Grant, Amber Grant, Hillary Lawson; two greatgrandchildren, Alex and Victoria; special friends, Betty K. McCroskey, Lorraine Vandyke. Graveside services will be conducted from the Arthur Family Cemetery 2 p.m. Wednesday. The family request that flowers be omitted and donations be made to Kathy Grant, 8190 Olsen Road, Roanoke, Va. 24019 for family expenses. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.

Uncle Bill, Is what we called him all the time,my sisters and I, We all loved him dearly,he was a sweet giving person,I will miss seeing him at Mom's or down at Aunt Dot"s out in the yard,I know now he is at peace.
