Thomas Asbury Obituary

Thomas Edward Asbury Jr., 67, of Bland, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Bland County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Bastian. He was born March 5, 1941 at Bluefield, W. Va. the son of the late Lydia Bell Hall and Thomas Edward Asbury, Sr. He is survived by two daughters, Anita P. Loving, Bland, Sherri Asbury, Wytheville; two brothers, Gerald Asbury, Virginia Beach, George A. (Tuffy) Taylor, North Carolina; one sister, Geraldine Taylor, Roanoke; two granddaughters, Leantha Michele Smith, Roanoke, Shanna Elysse Fulford, Bastian; three great-granddaughters, Brittany and Briana Horsley, Roanoke, Valeska Fulford, Bastian. As per Mr. Asbury's request, he will be cremated and there will be no visitation or funeral service. The A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate is assisting the family.

Sorry to hear about Tommy. I went to school with him. I was a neighbor of Mechanicsburg our growing up years. Our thoughts are with you the Family with your loss.
