Rosa Hall Obituary

Rosa Nicewander Hall, 81, of Pulaski, Va., died on Wednesday morning, January 21, 2009, in the Pulaski Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Bland County, Va., on April 2, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Nicewander Sr. and Lelia Blanche Thompson Nicewander. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Jackson (Hubby) Nicewander Jr.; and a sister, Alene Stowers and her husband, James Garland Hall. She was a member of the Dora Highway Baptist Church and was a retired employee of RAAP. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Bill Powers, of Roanoke; three sisters, Hazel Beasley, of Greensboro, N.C., Dolly Hart, of Walnut, Calif., and Freeda Brookman, of Bethlehem, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2009, from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Harry Lee Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in the Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Bland County. Visiting will be held on Friday from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from noon until the service hour. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.

My prayers go out to the family of Ms. Rosa. What a sweet legacy she left behind. I know you don't know me but I was the beautician at the Rehab center till sept. 2008 and I always enjoyed my conversations with rosa. she was a sweet lady and I'll cherish her memory.
