Nancy Reid Obituary

Nancy Turner Reid, 80, of Bedford, Va., passed away on Monday, February 2, 2009, at Campbell Rest Home. She was born on Thursday, February 16, 1928, in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Henry Turner and Vernie Massie Turner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Vernon Reid Sr. She was a retired employee of the Rubatex Corporation with 46 years service and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Surviving are her two sons, Robert Vernon Reid Jr. and wife, Laura, of Wimauma, Fla., and Timothy T. Reid, of Bedford; a granddaughter, Jennifer Linnet Reid; and a great-granddaughter, Kira Gordy, both of Frederick, Md.; a brother, John Turner and wife, Polly, of Bedford; three sisters, Margaret Key and husband, Hugh, and Ann T. Gray, all of Bedford, and Frances Martin and husband, Otis, of Bonifay, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2009, at the graveside at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Vernon Delong officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, after 2 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford, Va.
