To Cindi and family -
I want to express my heartfelt condolences to you at this terribly sad time. I felt that I knew your dad from all the stories you shared of him. When I met him, it was easy to see where you got your warm and loving spirit from. He embraced me like he'd know me all his life.
I know you will miss him and the hardest days are ahead. But just know who you can lean on. He is always there for you, our Savior Jesus Christ. His Holy Spirit is always with you. And as always, if you need me you know where I am. You are always in my prayers.
Love Always,
Linda

Cindi, my dearest christian sister. My heart is with you girl during this always "unexpected" and "never truly prepared for" time of loss. But be it known that your dad is singing praises to our Lord and shouting hallelujah to the top of his lungs that he is no longer in any pain. Girl, he is rejoicing with a magnificent spirit that only we can dream of right now. The testament that your dad left behind is to be cherished forever. I am soooooo happy & glad I got to meet this amazing man you spoke about each & every day of your life. I can honestly say now that I know where your get your loving, kind, gentle, respectful and "surviving" positive attitude from. This will be yours & his legacy for generations to come. I love you girl and I am so proud to have you in my life. Let me know if you need ANYTHING..i mean it!!!!!

A Reminiscence
YES, thou art gone! and never more
Thy sunny smile shall gladden me;
But I may pass the old church door,
And pace the floor that covers thee.
May stand upon the cold, damp stone,
And think that, frozen, lies below
The lightest heart that I have known,
The kindest I shall ever know.
Yet, though I cannot see thee more,
'Tis still a comfort to have seen;
And though thy transient life is o'er,
'Tis sweet to think that thou hast been;
To think a soul so near divine,
Within a form so angel fair,
United to a heart like thine,
Has gladdened once our humble sphere.

Cindi,
Having had the distinct privilege of meeting your father, I was saddened to learn of his passing. He truly epitomized what was meant by the "greatest generation". He was a gentle soul and I know the moment he was absent here he was with the Lord. Take comfort in your faith, knowing that this is but a short separation, you will see your father again and oh, the stories he will have for you! I am praying for God's peace to comfort you and heal your hurting heart. Take comfort in knowing that you brought much joy to your father and he was surely comforted by your steadfast love and care during his illness. Your father's memory and legacy is alive in you. God bless you.

Cindi,
I was so sorry to hear of your father's passing but he is now in a better place. I know it's hard because I went through it with my Mother and Sister but you were there with me trying to help make it easier.
The love and care you showed to your Father is to be admired by many and I know he appreciated everything you did. You are one of God's special Angels here on earth.
Love you,
Judy

You Know A Man
It is said you know a man
By the work of his hands
And the love of those
All about him.
And the stories they tell,
Those who knew him well,
Whenever his name is mentioned.
I met Hoppy second-hand
In his daughter’s affection
For her dear “Daddy”
And his walk as a man.
And I know of his spirit
And his poetic heart.
I know of his dedication
In his memory of the fallen.
I know of his humor
And strength of opinion.
I know of his love
For his family and friends.
For I know those who knew him
And seen in them … him
And thank God for the good
He achieved through this man.
