Ruth Bernard Obituary

Ruth E. Bernard, 87, of Roanoke, Va., passed peacefully away on Saturday, January 31, 2009. She was retired from American Motor Inns with 43 years service. Surviving are her son, Richard Henry Bernard and partner, Jim Snell, of Tampa, Fla.; daughter, Patricia Bernard Townsend and husband, Duane, of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Mary Saunders, Michael L. Greene, Christopher A. Townsend and Zachary Bernard; four greatgrandchildren; two great-greatgrandchildren; brother, Roy Davis, of Martinsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. The Rev. Troy Mays will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.

So sorry to read of your mother's passing. I read the obit last night - too late to try to catch up with you. Was talking to Larry Davidson this morning and we wanted to see if we could catch you before you left Roanoke.
