Beverly Martin Obituary

Beverly Davis Meador Martin, 92, of Bluefield, W.Va., passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 1, 2009. A native of Roanoke, Va., she lived since 1960 in Bluefield. Even until the time of her death, she was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Bluefield where she had been a Pre-School Sunday School teacher, Social Committee member, accompanist, and volunteer in many capacities. A true lady, spiritual guide, and loyal servant of the Lord, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who lived life to the fullest. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Mary Lou Davis Meador and Owen H. Meador; and her brothers, Owen Meador and George Meador. Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Samuel K. Martin; her children, Mary Lynne Martin Woro, of Asheville, N.C., and Alan Martin and his wife, Karen, of Charlotte, N.C.; and her grandchildren, Mary Davis Wallace, of Sarasota, Fla., Sarah Kate Martin, Seth Martin, and Jordan Martin, of Charlotte, N.C.; and her goddaughters, Karen Thurmer, of Bluefield, W.Va., and Melissa Kirk Oliverio, of Morgantown, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Fisher officiating. Interment will be held noon on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, in Fairview Cemetery, Roanoke, Va.
