Elsie Anderson Obituary

Elsie M. Anderson, 87, of Catawba, Va., passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2009. After many years as a baker at Catawba Hospital, her great joy in retirement was gardening and caring for her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Marvin E. Anderson; her devoted son, Woody R. Smith and daughter-in-law, Arlene M. Smith; her grandsons, Trevor R. Smith and Bret A. Smith; her granddaughters, Woodelyn C. Smith and Wraylyn A. Smith; her sister, Gladys Day; and her dear and close friends. All will miss her very much, and she will always live in our memories. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem but visitors are welcome from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2009, at Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Bill Atkins officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.

We were saddened to hear about Elsie's death. We only saw her one time since her and Mr. Anderson bought the Simons Property. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
