Josephine Legans Obituary

Josephine Adline Leftwich Legans, 74, of Roanoke, Va., passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2009. She was born on July 7, 1934, in Franklin County to the late Emery and Ollie Martin Leftwich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Legans; and son, Warren Leftwich. Survivors include her children, Eyvonnie (Fred) Ingram, Bernice (James) Leftwich, Charles (Ta'Meshia) Leftwich, Kathy (Randy) Legans, Annie Belle (Sammy) Legans and Bruce (Gail) Legans; 13 grandchildren; 23 greatgrandchildren; sisters, Clydie Legans and Della Fisher; brother, William (Irene) Leftwich; and a host of greatgreat-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at Garden of Prayer No. 7 Church with the Bishop Shadrack Brown Jr. officiating. The interment will be in Byrd View Cemetery, Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2009, at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to Hamlar-Curtis.com.
