Joann Crawford Obituary

JoAnn (NeNe) Richardson Crawford, 71, went to be with the Lord and reunite with her husband, Benny Guy Crawford, on their 48th wedding anniversary, February 4, 2009. "Love is patient..." Mrs. Crawford lived at 5318 Palm Valley Road, Roanoke, Va. but was formerly of 712 Barrows Mill Road, Martinsville, Va. Born on September 10, 1937, in Martinsville, Va., she was a daughter of the late John W. Richardson and Annabelle Bradley Richardson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one sister, Billye R. Hundley; and two brothers, John H. Richardson and Mack R. Richardson. Mrs. Crawford was a homemaker. She was a member of McCabe Memorial Baptist Church, Martinsville, Va., and a member of the Bessie Barker Sunday School Class at McCabe Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Crawford was also a member of the House of Prayer in Roanoke, Va. Surviving are her daughter, Ann Crawford Butcher, of Roanoke, Va.; a son, Samuel Curtis Crawford, of Daleville, Va.; a sister, Ellen Richardson Disney, of Elon College, N.C.; a brother, Curtis A. Richardson, of Martinsville, Va.; and four grandchildren, Matthew Melvin, Haleigh Butcher, Kole Bushong and Kalen Bushong. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2009, at Norris Funeral Services Chapel with the Reverend Lewis Harris, the Reverend Gary Butcher and Pastor Andy Cobb officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Norris Funeral Services and other times at 712 Barrows Mill Road, Martinsville, Va. Memorials may be made to the House of Prayer Youth Organization, 2521 Portland Avenue, Roanoke, Va. 24017. Anne and family,
I just found out about the passing of your mother. I am so saddened to hear of your loss. I enjoyed the time that I spent with her during my visits in December. She was a lovely and delightful lady and I know you will all miss her. You are in my prayers.
