Clarice Clem Obituary

Clarice W. Clem, 86, of Roanoke, Va., died February 6, 2009, at Salem Health and Rehab Center. She was born July 24, 1922, in Rocky Mount, to Lemon and Etheleen Frith Wright, both deceased. She was an LPN. She was of the Catholic faith. She retired from Cooper Lumber Company as an inspector. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Clem. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Debbie Clem, of New Castle; two sisters, Bertha Clingenpeel and Irene Oakes, of Rocky Mount; three sistersin-law, Marie Albanese and Mary Lea Clem, of Berkely Springs, W.Va., and Leona Wright, of Rocky Mount; two grandsons, Joseph Durling Clem, of Roanoke, who was her special caregiver, and Michael Stover, of New Castle; two granddaughters, Jessica Clem Price and husband, Danny, and Heather Stover, of New Castle; three great-granddaughters, Marjorie Taylor Price, Abigayle MacKenzie Price and Jordyn Rae Price, of New Castle; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Michael Thompson. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2009, at Lynch Funeral Home, Rocky Mount. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2009, at Lynch Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, with the Rev. Susan E. Bentley officiating. The family would like to give a special thank you to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and Salem Health and Rehab for their special care. Arrangements are by Lynch Funeral Home of Rocky Mount.
