We will always remember how gracious Dottie was in opening up the cabin to us! The evenings of commaraderie, cards and spirits are some of the best times! She will always be remembered for her generosity!

We'll miss Grannie as we already missed Grandie. Just so glad our son Jack got to meet them. Only wish he'd been a bit older so he could have appreciated them more. Best regards to her sons and their families and my nephew and niece and their loved ones. God bless you all.

Bill and I, our daughter Becky and her family Mark, Miles & Genevieve send our love and support at this time to the Kessler extended family. We had many wonderful times on Craig's Creek with Dottie and with Harry when he was alive. My fondest memory is of sitting reading and sunbathing on the raft in the middle of the creek with my sister Lynne. Looking up, I saw Dottie rowing out to join us with 3 gin n' tonics on the rear seat of the row boat. We love you Dottie. You gave us all many good memories.

To the Kessler and Simmons family,Thinking of you at this special time. I go way back. Met Dottie and Harry when my husband and he were roomates at Emory & Henry. Harry was also in our wedding in 1947, The last time I was with them was at that special party given on their 50th anniversary. Time changes so much, but our fun memories will always remain. You ae in my prayers.

Dear Harry and Tony, I shall miss seeing your Mom in all the Fincastle places and events. I have known her since she became my Science teacher (before her marriage to your Dad) in the old Fincastle high school, when I was a scared new-comer. I wonder if she ever got all the mercury cleaned off her engagement ring. She was kind to me then and never changed. She was a brave lady in her last days and I know the Lord has welcomed her home. May you feel His comfort in the coming days and weeks.

To Harry and Tony (and your families),

I counted your Mom as one of my best friends on earth as well as a kindred spirit upon Craig's Creek. One of the few people who truly revered and respected nature there(along with your Dad, Harry), I will miss her greatly especially when I spend time on the Creek and when thinking about it as I do daily.

She was always a wonderful and kind Lady who treated myself and all those around her with kindness, respect and gentility.

God Bless Her,

Linda Schuyler

Harry, Tony, & families,
Sorry to hear of Dottie's death. She & your father gave me a job in the hardware and grocery in Fincastle when I was in high school. I also had the privilege to work with her at Botetourt Circuit Court Clerk's office for many years. I was also her hairdresser for quite some time. She will be missed by all of us. She always had a kind word for everyone she met and was such a sweet lovely lady.

I have had the true privilege of knowing Dottie and her late husband Harry for the last 30 years. We met through a friendship with their son Tony and his wife Karen. Through the years we have shared many good times at their second home on Graig Creek. Harry told me once that Dottie loved the creek as much as she loved her family; and that's not slighting her family. My deepest condolences to the family and friends she leaves behind. She will be missed but never forgotten.

Dottie has been my friend since 1933 when my parents and I moved to Fincastle. She and Harry and Bill and I called ourselves the "Mad Quartet" and shared over fifty years of good times together. I shall miss my sister-in-law's companionship. My deepest sympathy and love to her children and grandchildren and other members of the family.
