Eva German Obituary

Eva Scott Huggard German, 75, of 65 Longview Circle, Fishersville, Va., died Monday, February 16, 2009, at Augusta Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at Fishersville. She was born May 27, 1933, in Clifton Forge, Va., a daughter of the late Wilbur Marion Scott and Ruth Virginia Boes Scott. She was a member of Hermitage Presbyterian Church where she was an Elder and choir member. She retired in 1998 from the Virginia Department for the Blind and Visually Impaired where she was an executive secretary/clerical supervisor. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Aaron Huggard; and a sister, Marion Scott Fuhrman. Survivors include her husband, William German; son, James "Jim" Huggard and fiancée, Cynthia Holland, of Fincastle; daughter, Bobbi Nicely and husband, Jay, of Penhook, Va.; stepsons, Scott German and wife, Stephanie, of Fishersville, and Rodney German, of Stuarts Draft; three grandchildren, Eric Huggard, Ashleigh Huggard, and Stephen Nicely; and three stepgrandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth and Courtney German. A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2009, at the Hermitage Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Wray Sherman. Burial will be private for family members. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, February 19, 2009, at McDow Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hermitage Presbyterian Church Renovation Fund, 46 Hildebrand Church Road, Waynesboro, Va. 22980. Family and friends may view the obituary online or sign the guest register at www.mcdowfuneralhomeinc.com
