Kyle Goode

Kyle Goode, 102, of Rocky Mount, Va., died Saturday, February 21, 2009. He was a retired dairy farmer and rural mail carrier, charter member of the Ferrum Lions Club and life member of the Waidsboro Ruritan Club. He also taught Sunday school for over 40 years and served as Deacon for many years. Mr. Goode was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie B. Goode; daughter, Mary G. Ingram; and a son, Carlton B. Goode. Surviving are his wife, Geneva Webb Goode, Rocky Mount; son, K. Edward Goode Sr. (Reva), Rocky Mount/Ferrum; daughters, Ann G. Allison (Bob), Burlington, N.C., and Barbara G. Stoner, Roanoke; daughter-in-law, Mildred T. Goode, Collinsville; stepsons, Russell Mullins (Patricia), Rocky Mount, and Donnie Mullins, Callaway; his eight grandchildren, K. Edward Goode Jr., Carlton B. Goode Jr., Shirley G. Jones, Kathy M. Woods, Dale A. Stadler, Hal A. Meador, David G. Allison and Kevin L. Meador; 11 greatgrandchildren and three greatgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from the Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2009, with the Rev. Floyd Harrison III and the Rev. Dr. J. Wesley Inge officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Waidsboro Ruritan Club, c/o B.W. Wright, Treasurer, 5064 Franklin Street, Rocky Mount, Va. 24151. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday with the family receiving visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of Ed Goode, 25 Pleasant Hill Road, Ferrum, Va.
