To the Weisend Family,

All of our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. Mrs. Weisend was one of the nicest people that any of us will ever meet in our lifetime. She touched everyone that she knew and she will be deeply missed. We were so blessed to have known her and we know for sure that she is in good hands!

Dear Wendy Ann, Pam, and Lance: News of your beloved mama's passing filled me with sadness; I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was such an important part of my childhood and early teen years...she was always so welcoming, kind, and full of good humor. She made me feel special and was quick to offer encouragement and show trust in my abilities, giving me my first "job" babysitting you three! It was such a thrill to have her visit my home last year. Though slightly frail, she was still the warm, wonderful, funny woman I had first loved as a little girl. I was so blessed to have known her. Fondly, Joanna

Lance, Pam, and Wendy some of the best memories of my life are of your family. Your Mom made the best peanut and butter sandwiches. I believe she was the best friend my Mom ever had. When we lived in Blacksburg it really seemed like we were all one big family. You guys are always in my thoughts and especially now. I love you all.

My most heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Wendy, Pam and Lance, whom I haven't seen since we were little kids together - when our moms were best friends. We called Ann in January, when our mother, Mary Lou, passed away, and my brother Jim had a sad but lovely conversation with her. I have so many memories of our moms drinking coffee, smoking cigarettes and talking, talking, talking - and laughing - for hours at a time. Not content to have us just running around the neighborhood in the summers, they founded the Shawnee Swim Club - the ultimate coffee klatch project. After we moved away, they stayed close over the years - visiting when my parents visited Blacksburg. My dad forwarded me the news of Ann's passing. I'm very saddened and will hold you all in my thoughts and prayers.

To the Weisend Family,

We were so shocked and saddened with the terrible news. We have so many wonderful memories of times and experiences Ann shared with us. She was always so wonderful, kind, and giving over the past 30+ years that we have been neighbors and friends. It is hard to imagine anyone being a better next door neighbor or friend. We will miss her terribly and think of our great times with her often.

I'm so sorry about your momma. Your parents were one of the best. I know some of momma and daddy's favorite memories are of your parents and the old VPI gang!
