Viola Nichols Obituary

Viola Aldene Conner Nichols, 75, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Friday, February 27, 2009, at Richfield Care Center. She was born March 22, 1933, to the late Guy and Nellie Poff Conner of Floyd County. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Dessie Conner and Annie Dowdy; and her brothers, Cleophas, Alvin, George and Harley Conner. Mrs. Nichols was of the Primitive Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Thomas Cole Nichols; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be held 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Avenue. Elder Junior Conner will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Vale Cemetery in Floyd County. The family will receive friends at Oakey's South Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2009. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.

Thomas Cole Nichols,
My thoughts and prayers are with you in the coming days, Aldene was a great classmate, we will miss her as our 60th class reunion will come up this summer. May you have peace knowing that she isn't sufforting anymore. God Bless.
