Roy Lee Roach

Roy Lee Roach, 63, of Huddleston, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was born on Sunday, July 29, 1945, in Bedford County, a son of the late Junior Pearl Roach and Frances Wright Roach. He was also preceded in death by a son, Lynn Roach; and two brothers, Billy R. Roach and Robert W. Krantz. He was the owner of Roy L. Roach & Sons Chipping & Logging. Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Linda Nichols Roach; three sons, Timmy Roach and fiancée, Donna Meador, of Huddleston, Wesley Roach and wife, Loretta, of Lynch Station, Shane Roach and wife, Wanda, of Bedford; a daughter, Sabrina Farmer and husband, Brad, of Bedford; three brothers, Jerry Roach and wife, Joyce, Johnny Roach and wife, Debbie, all of Huddleston, James Roach and wife, Bernice, of Ferrum, Va.; four sisters, Amy Barbour, Kathy Roach, Sandra Compton, all of Gretna, Judy Baubon and husband, Henry, of Ringgold; a half sister, Lucille R. Brienze, Gretna; six grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with the Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Roach Family Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday after 12 noon and the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
