Jean Woods Obituary

Jean B. Woods formerly of Woolwine , Va., died Saturday, February 28, 2009. She was born June 29, 1924, to the late William and Lily Gray Boyce, in Lorain, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Robina Cogdell, of Greentown, Ind.; and her husband, Donald (Don) Woods. She was an active member of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Donna J. Woods, of Roanoke, Va., Alice Woods, of Lakewood, Colo., and Wendy Woods, of Morrison, Colo.; and her son, Dale Woods, of Chicago, Ill. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Oakey's South Chapel with the Rev. Jim Thomas officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Amherst, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to Heifer International, Heifer.org or American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, Va. 23058-5216. I have the fondest of memories of Jean when I was working at Raleigh Court UMC. The stories she would tell about her family were amazing and she will be truly missed. ~Sarah
