Earll Aaron Obituary

Our community lost a wonderful man and Heaven gained a star as Earl Leo Aaron, 68, of Buchanan, Va., slipped from the bonds of this world as he was surrounded by his loving family and awoke in his Heavenly Home. He rejoins his parents, Edward James and Claudie Seay Aaron; brother, Kenneth Aaron; brother-in-law, Herbert Fitzgerald; sister-inlaw, June Aaron; and nephew, Doug Aaron.
Leo was born and raised in Buchanan and was a member of the last graduating class of Buchanan High School in 1959. He then joined the United States Air Force, retiring in 1981 as a Master Sergeant after 22 years service. He later worked in the insurance field, was a Rawleigh Representative, and retired once more as a Funeral Assistant in 2007 from Botetourt Funeral Homes to spend more time with his wife, Liz and his grandchildren.
Leo was a founding member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church in Buchanan and a devoted servant of God. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
After retiring from the Air Force he coached several years of youth baseball, girls slow-pitched softball and basketball. He coached one softball team all the way to the World Series in Texas. Leo was an avid fan of the sports teams of James River High School.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Elizabeth Craig Aaron; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Sandra M. Aaron, of Eagle Rock; daughter, Laura Aaron Terbeek, of Hampstead, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Linnette Dudley, of Fincastle; daughters and son-in-law, Patty Dudley, Karen and Bobby Bierer, and Rhonda Dudley, all of Buchanan; grandchildren, Sean Aaron, Brianne Aaron Terbeek Brown, and husband, Zach, Amanda Paige Terbeek, Travis Bierer and wife, Pam, Dustin Moore, Brandon Moore, Chastity and Rebecca Dudley; great-grandson, Walker Bierer; sister, Margaret A. Leo was a great person. He always called me cousin because my Aaron ancestors linked up with his kin somewhere down the line. I will truly miss him and I am enriched by having known him. I know he is at peace in heaven.

Leo was such an amazingly warm soul. Even though we did not spend a lot of time together, he always embraced me as family and I will cherish his memory. I share in his joy at being home and in your sorrow at his absence from this life. My love and prayers are with each of you......his beloved.

Uncle Leo will be in my heart forever. He was such an amazing man. He was my coach, my friend, my great uncle, i mean great! He was always willing to serve others. I will always remember his smile and the way he encouraged me. This year as we're playing church softball I will be thinking of him. He was so excited about having a church softball team last year. I know he would be so glad we are playing again this year. He was a great role model. Thank you uncle Leo for all your hard work and dedication at Faith Comm. I will see you again one day. Thank you LORD JESUS for making that possible! Makenzie and Hayden also miss you! You'll be in our hearts forever. Love you always, Felissa

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to each of you during the loss of your loved one. Leo was a very thoughtful, considerate man who never met a stranger. He was indeed a great coach, who coached one of my daughters in All Stars Softball, and supported the James River Sports Teams faithfully. I thought of him often during the Boys Basketball Games this year and the playoffs, knowing he would have been there if he were able. You all have a lot of good memories to cherish. May knowing that he is no longer suffering and is in his Heavenly Home with family and friends bring you comfort. God Bless You!

Our hearts goes out to Leo's family. He will be deeply missed by everyone especially the Big Survey Hunt Club members. As one of the best leaders of the club he never failed to thank everyone for the work and time they put in keeping the club going. He always recognized the past members that help start the club. We've shared many memories with Leo and Liz at the hunting camp picnic and the blue grass concerts. Leo's happy smile will always be with us. Liz you and the family will always be in our thoughts and prays.
With deepest sympathy

What great memories you all will have when reflecting Leo's life. I never saw him without a smile on his face and a warm greeting to all. Leo was a good friend and a mentor to a lot of people. (not to mention a good fishing partner for the boys)
I hope that you all will keep his spirit alive and smile everytime you think of the wonderful things he did everyday. I can only hope that my sons become half the man he was. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.

Our heart goes out to Leo's family during this most difficult time. Leo was a good man. You don't find many of his character anymore. It's hard to lose a loved one, however, may you find peace knowing that God has called him home for a reason.
