Carol Morehead Obituary

Carol Morehead, 71, of Wytheville, Va., passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009. She was born December 23, 1937, in Wytheville, daughter of the late James and Elsie Caudle Pickett. She attended West End United Methodist Church. Carol worked at the law firm of Campbell, Young and Hughes for 20 years and another 28 years in the same office for the law firm of Trenton G. Crewe Jr. She is survived by her husband, James Rolen "J.R." Morehead, of the home; one brother, Larry Pickett, of Northern Virginia; six brothers-in-law and sisters-inlaw, Frank and Virginia Morehead, of Bland, Gilbert and Ola Morehead, of Bland, Frances M. Crockett, of Wytheville, Jean M. Morehead, of Wytheville, Paul D. Morehead of Bland, and Opal and Jim Strouse, of Fairfax; and a host of relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at West End United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Morris officiating. Interment will follow in West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Home or at the home of Frances Crockett, 815 N. 10th St., Wytheville, Va., at any time. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va., is in charge of arrangements.

I KNEW CAROL FOR SEVERAL YEARS WHILE I WAS ON THE POLICE DEPT IN WYTHEVILLE .SHE WAS A VERY PROFESSIONAL AND CAREING PERSON . SHE WILL BE MISSED . MY HEART IS WITH J.R. AND HIS FAMILY .
