Wayne Lee Newell

Wayne Lee Newell, 75, of Lexington, Va., died Friday, March 6, 2009, in Stonewall Jackson Hospital. He was born August 10, 1933, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late James Samuel Newell and Edith Clark Newell. He was a self-employed electrician and a member of I.B.E.W. Mr. Newell was a member of Lauderdale A.R.P. Church. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn I. Newell; a son, Larry Wayne Newell, of Lexington; a grandson, Jonathan Lee Newell; three sisters, Juanita Carter, of Roanoke, Roberta Hockman, of Lexington, Betty Ann Newell, of Staunton; one brother, Malcolm (Mack) Newell, of Lexington; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Mace officiating. Burial will follow in Stonewall Jackson Cemetery.
