Ruby Manning Hollins

Mrs. Ruby Manning Hollins, 85, of Hillsborough, N.C., passed away peacefully Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Windsor Point, Fuquay Varina. Ruby was an native of Floyd County , Va., daughter of the late Jasper J. and Effie Aldridge Manning, and wife of the late Orel B. Hollins. Ruby loved gardening, flower arranging, nature, walking, and crafts. She was a devoted wife and mother. Ruby and her late husband, Orel Hollins resided in Hillsborough for many years. While in Hillsborough she was an active member of First Baptist Church, Exchange Club, Hillsborough Garden Club, and Order of the Eastern Star. She volunteered at Mission in Action and Historic Burwell School. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Robert Babb; her sister and brother-in-law, Helen Sue and R. B. Smith; and three grandchildren, Keaton, Jackson, and Leila Babb; and two nieces, LuAnn Zimmerman and Serena Wimmer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Hillsborough. Burial will be at 5 p.m. Monday at Head of River Church Cemetery, Copper Hill, Va.
