Jean Robertson Obituary

Jean Lee Robertson, 79, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Friday, March 6, 2009. Jean was a life long member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She was a member of Vinton Chapter # 136 OES since 1972 and was a dual member of Electa Chapter #33 OES since 1999. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Irene Wager Robertson; and her brother, Carl Robertson. She is survived by her niece, Catherine Robertson, of Richmond; numerous cousins; and a special friend, Lois Tarter. A funeral service will be held at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, Monday, March 9, 2009, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Eric Spano officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Roanoke County. In lieu of flowers, Jean requested donations be made to the Mt. Pleasant Rescue Squad, 2909 Jae Valley Road, Roanoke, Va. 24014 or Vinton Eastern Star Chapter # 136, P.O. Box 471, Vinton, Va. 24179. An Eastern Star Service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and a time of visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 540-982-2221.
