Mabel G. Totten Herndon

Mabel G. Totten Herndon, 82, of Roanoke, Va. went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2009. She was born on June 29, 1926 in Haysi, Va. to the late Craig and Minnie Totten. She was the widow of Walter Doak Herndon, and was preceded in death by a son, Walter Craig Herndon, granddaughter, Tracy Herndon and sister, Helen Clevinger. She is survived by her sons, Terry Herndon, (wife) Carolyn, of Louisville, Ky., Jerry Herndon, (wife) Pat, of Roanoke, Va., Doak Herndon and Carolyn Haynes, of Roanoke, Va., Dan Herndon, (wife) Marissa, of Roanoke, Va.; daughters, Sherry Carver, (husband) Bill, of Roanoke, Va., Connie Poff, (husband) Gary, of Troutville, Va., Helen Bates, of Roanoke, Va., Kelly Tolman, (husband) Bert, of Hardy, Va., Kim Harlow, (husband) Troy, of Buchanan, Va.; sister, June Van Dyke, of Bakersville, Calif.; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the many caring friends and staff at Carrington Place for all their care and to Amedysis Hospice for all their support.
