James Bean Obituary

James (Jim) Ellett Bean, 88, of Christiansburg, died Friday, June 12, 2009 at his home. He was a World War II veteran and drove for Associated Transport until he retired. He is survived by his wife, Goldie; a daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Tom Hughes, Christiansburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Pat Bean, Christiansburg; five grandchildren, Tommy Lee, Bobby, and Hannah Hughes, Julie and Joseph Bean; two sisters, Francis Shelton, Roanoke, Ellen Smith, Christiansburg. Graveside services were held Sunday, June 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, with Pastor Mike Johnston officiating. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
