Beatrice H. Early

Beatrice H. Early, 92, of Roanoke, Va., a lifelong Christian, passed away peacefully, at Richfield Health Care Center on Wednesday, June 17, 2009. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 60 years, Edgar Louis Early; and a beloved grandson, Kelly Wayne Hartman. Mrs. Early was retired from the Roanoke County School System, prior to that she worked at Yale & Towne in Salem. She was a member of the United Steel Workers. She is survived by her son, Dr. Douglas Dale Early and his wife, Marita, of Peoria Ill.; daughter, Doreen Early Hartman and her husband, Larry, of Salem; five grandchildren, Annette Macias and husband, Roberto, of Folsom, Calif., Mark Early and wife, Tina, of Denver, Colo., Lisa Doty and husband, Rick, of Metamora, Ill., Christopher Early and wife, Adream, of Milwaukee, Wis., and Kurt Hartman and wife, Maria, of Troutville; 18 greatgrandchildren; seven greatgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the Sherwood Abbey Chapel of Sherwood Memorial Park. The Rev. Emory N. Tarpley Sr. will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2009, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.
