Charles McRae Ware

Charles McRae (Uncle Ray) Ware, 70, of Buchanan, passed away Friday evening, June 19, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Edward and Okey Dell Cooper Ware. Ray had retired as a selfemployed brick mason. Ray was a Korean Conflict Veteran serving the United States Navy. He was an avid sportsman who loved to fish and hunt. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Virginia Dare Ware; sons and daughter-in-law, John Elton Ware, of Buchanan, Frank McRae and Sarah Ware, of Chesapeake; grandchildren, Amanda Jane Ware, Damian Ashley, Cale McRae Ware, and Macy Elizabeth Ware; greatgrandson, Ashton J. Carpenter; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Paige Ware, of Fincastle; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley Rickman, Helen and Bob Riddle, Jean and William McClure, Patty and Roger Caron, of Springfield, Mass.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 22, 2009, at 2 p.m. in Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Ms. Rose Barger officiating. Interment will be private.
