Macy Samuels Obituary

Macy Elizabeth Samuels, 86, of Elkton, Va., went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 18, 2009, at her son's home in Lexington, Va. Mrs. Samuels was born May 12, 1923, in Page County, and was the daughter of the late Euell G. and Nettie J. Lam Breeden. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Homer and Nelson Breeden. She worked as a seamstress at Blue Bell for 35 years up until her retirement. She enjoyed her cats, gardening in her flower garden and loved staying at home and being with family. She is survived by one son, Sheldon Breeden and wife, Betty, of Lexington; one grandson, Chad Breeden; three stepgrandchildren, Wayne Wallace, Bobby Jones and Steve Kingery; one great-grandchild, Shaina Lee Breeden; two brothers, Cecil Breeden and Herman Breeden; one sister, Tressie Hensley; one stepsister, Dara Inez Grimsley; four nieces, Judy Breeden, Brenda Morris, Sue Cooper and Lena Dovel; four nephews, Gary Breeden, Bruce Hensley, Craig Breeden, and Olen Hensley; and close friends, Reba Breeden and Phil Offenbacker. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2009, 2 p.m. at Kyger Funeral Home, in Elkton, with Pastor Nona Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Hensley UMC Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Saturday evening at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Reba Breeden, in Elkton.
