Anna DeHaven Obituary

Anna Avis DeHaven, 75, of Roanoke County, Va., passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009. She was a bookkeeper for DeHaven Transportation. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ray; her three children, Steve and his wife, Kay DeHaven, Kathy Adams, and Karen Shelton and her husband, Tom; grandchildren, Amy and Steven Maffe, David and Jess Flannagan, Chad DeHaven and his fiancée, Jennifer Entsminger, Jonathan Shelton, Brian Flannagan, Adam DeHaven and his girlfriend, Caitlyn Reinhart, and Michael Shelton and Brittany Adams. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at the Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Dick Jones officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society.

I am so sorry to read of your loss, my wife of 28 years passed away 12 years ago and it still bothers me. I think about you guys often but I don't get back to Roanoke but maybe once a year. I try to keep up reading the paper online.

I had the pleasure of knowing Anna Lou for many years,she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook and I had the pleasure of enjoying many of her meals,cooking for her family bought her a lot of joy.I know she will be working her magic in heaven.My thoughts and prayers are with her family, she will be truly missed.
