Luther A. Kessler

Luther A. (Moose) Kessler, 72, of Troutville, Va., passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009. He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Morris Kessler; mother, Sarah Elizabeth Hambrick Kessler; father, Hunter Boyd Kessler; and a sister, Peggy Lynn Kessler Ritchie. "Moose" is survived by his daughter, Karen Kessler Frate and her husband, Robert Frate; son, Shane C. Ritchie and his wife, Heidi Miller Ritchie; three grandchildren, Katelyn and Chandler Ritchie and Joshua Frate; sisters, Jane Kessler Brogan and her husband, Rabon, of Troutville, Joyce Kessler Harris and her husband, Claude, of Troutville, and Mary Ellen Bryant and her husband, Carl, of Florahome, Fla.; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and special friends, including Marie Keith. Friends are welcome to call on Friday, June 26, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville where a service celebrating "Moose's" 72 years will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2009, in Rader's Chapel with the Rev. Doug Mitchell and the Rev. Garry Shelton officiating. Interment will be held at Trinity Cemetery.
