I have so many good memories of Walter. I think one of my favorites is when he rode with me to the Maryland Renaissance Festival. It was just the two of us. Darlene, I think you rode with Peggy and some other friends. Anyway, Walter and I took turns playing our favorite music for each other during the drive. We had such similar tastes in music! I remember he played a French/Canadian folk band that I absolutely loved.

Other memories include his excitement when he showed me the bottle of Smithwick's Ale he found! And the bemused/well-I-guess-I'm-excited-for-you look as he watched us eat sushi with Nathan and Kiera.

Walter was truly one of the nicest and most fun people I've ever met. I can't imagine what you are going through, Darlene, but I hope you realize how lucky we've all been to spend the time we've had with him. And as hard as this is, you've been luckier than any of us, because you've known and loved him best.

Darlene -- I was saddened by the news of the passing of Walter. I didn't know him well, but I know that you loved him and that he was good for you. My prayer is that the Good Lord will continue to bless you, watch over you and keep you in His loving care. Walter is in good hands now.

Darlene, I am so sorry for your loss. I never knew Walter, but I know that he enriched your life greatly, and through Dan I know that he liked everyone and was a wonderful husband and friend. People like that leave the world a better place, and I know that he will live on here through his deeds and memories you shared. I hope that life gives you time to grieve, to remember, to share, to hope, to become stronger, and to chart a clear course to a bright future. I am praying for you.
