Karen,
Gary and I were out of town last year when Stevie passed. I didn't know. I will never forget that eager young actor, especially when he posed as the "statue" of Jubilation T. Cornpone! He was the heart of every play that I directed.

I had the pleasure of teaching Stevie twice. I remember how he loved Greek mythology...and hated essays he had to write.

We all were blessed with Stevie's presence while we had him here. I know that no words can help fill the emptiness left by his loss. The world is less for his moving on to another realm. God bless you and your family.

I have know Steven for a short time. He was our photographer at Sears since our daughter was born 3 yrs. age. He was the best one there and I always looked foward to getting him to take our pictures. I just had a son the 28 of june and was looking forward for Steve taking our pictures and seeing our newest addition. He loved his family, as he always shared stories with us. He is greatly missed, but is in a better place now. These times are rough, but keep God the focus of life and things will be easier.

Karen, Steve, and Nickie,
Mom and I are so saddened to hear of Stevie's passing. I am thinking of you all and keeping you in my prayers. I have to tell you a little story: I told my mom about Stevie passing away, and I don't know how much she remembers right now...so I asked her if she knew who I was talking about and she said yes...then she said "Daddy used to yelled at him to stop opening and closing the door!" So, when my Dad sees him in heaven, I hope they can laugh about this time in Stevie's life. Love to you all through this difficult time
Love,
Aunt Rosella and Judi

Karen, Steve & Nick,
We were all very saddened to hear of Stevie's illness and passing. Having been there with Dad, we know how stressful and painful it is to watch and know there is nothing you can do for your loved one during this time. But do know, that just your presence and love was comfort to him in his final days. We know that Our Lord and many family members were there waiting to welcome Stevie to his heavenly home. Take comfort from this and from all your many happy memories with him. Trust that in time the pain will lessen a little, but the memories will live on forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Love,
Susan, John & Family

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Steve's passing. My deepest condolences to his family and friends for your loss. I have not met any of you, but feel as though I know some of you through conversations with Steve. Steve has taken countless of photos of my children since their births. Steve was always jovial, fun, hard-working, and full of smiles. He had a way with my children - they enjoyed him and his antics. He always got great shots, which wasn't always easy!! But he had the patience, kindness, artistry, and understanding to work with my children (and me!). He also was a good friend to me over the years. I will miss him. I will think of him during every photo session and every Chrsitmas when I make peanut butter balls, which he claimed was one of his favorite things. They were my special thanks to him for being who he was and all that he did for us. God bless Steve and all of you. He will be greatly missed.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.

July 6, 2009

I was extremely shocked and sorrowed to hear of Stephen's death. My best memories of Stephen are when he worked at the Buchanan IGA and when I worked as a nurse in Buchanan and Fincastle. My kids adored him and used to jump all over him whenever we went into the IGA. He never minded their adoration. He was simply a delight wherever I saw him -- did not matter if he was sick or under the weather. He was so bright. He had a gifted personality. That is a rare thing.

My thoughts are with you, Karen and Stephen. He was a wonderful kid.

We were all surprised to find Stephen had passed away. He is with God now and there is no more suffering. I will surely miss happening across him at Walmart where we first met, working in the photocenter.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. We knew Stephen through our kids at school/football, so he never referred to us by name and even years later whenever we saw him he greeted us with "Hey Mom & Dad!" He was so talented and we will miss running into him from time to time to catch up on his activities. I take comfort in knowing that he is keeping my little Abbagayle safe on her journey back home to heaven also, as she passed away the same day. God has two special angels.

Juba was such a great man. He always had a smile on his face and always brightened any room he walked into. The world was a better place for a short while - because he was a part it. I remember all the laughs we had on volleyball trips in high school when he would comsume about 4 or 5 Hardee's roast beef sandwiches and still say he was hungry. Such a vibrant person, and it was a joy to have known him. My thoughts are with you and I am sorry for your loss.

Stephen (or as we all knew him, Juba) was one of the sweetest men to ever walk this earth. I lost touch with him over the years, but was thrilled to catch up with him when he oversaw the shooting of my wife's and my engagement photos back in 2006. He was incredibly talented and loved people. We will all miss him terribly. I praise God for the time Stephen had on this earth, I praise Him for Stephen's eternity in God's glory, and I implore all to pray for Stephen's family as they move through this loss.
