Georgianna Vest Young

Georgianna Vest Young, 98, of Vinton, Va., passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2009. She is preceded in death by her husband, Grover S. Young; and sister, Olive Austin. Mrs. Young was a member of Haran Baptist Church and was a retired registered nurse from Jefferson Hospital. She is survived by her son, Robert A. Young and wife, Peggy, of Vinton; daughter, Dottie Aldredge, of Madison, Ala.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Ora King, of Atlanta, Ga. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2009, at Oakey's South Chapel. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.
