William Henry Whorley Sr.

William Henry Whorley Sr., 80, of Goodview, Va., passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2009, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 29, 1928, to the late William "Lonnie" and Annie Bonds Whorley. In addition to his parents and siblings, he was predeceased by the love of his life, Delitha Whorley; and a son, William Whorley Jr. Surviving are his loving children, Alfred Whorley (Connie), Doretha Whorley (Dennis), Barbara Whorley (Charles) and Thomassena Barrett (Patrick); grandchildren, Latrika (Maurice) Lipscomb, Alphonzo Lawson (Nicole), Aundria Whorley (Walter), Renee Whorley, Teresa Swain, Sharon Swain Shanice Swain, Carl Swain, and Debra Law; great-grandchildren, Dominique, Timothy, Lydia, Antonio, Marquez and two on the way this fall; brothers, Roger (Ida) Whorley, Charles (Shirley) Whorley, and Robert Whorley; sisters and brothersin-law, Vida Whorley, Mildred Whorley, Elsie Whorley, Ora (Mack) Ingram, Bobby (Roxie) Thomasson, William Thomasson, Macie (Robert) Butler, Bernice (Lonzo) Smith, and Janet Thomasson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; and special friends, D.A. Fulcher, Dave and Ethel Fulcher. Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital 8 Mtn. ICU for all the special care you gave our father. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2009, in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel. The interment will be in the Whorley Family Cemetery, Goodview.
