Dear Robert;
I heard of your passing from an extended family member. I cannot believe you are gone.... I spoke with you ten days before you departed, and judging by our phone conversation, the last time we'd seen eachother would definitely not have been the last time we would see one another. I am missing you today, and your physical presence will be missed more with each passing day.... I know that a place has been prepared for you a long time ago, as you paid it forward every day, Rob....
Condolences go out to the family of the "late" Robert "G(J)iddy." King....
Your beloved, "Sista' "T"

To the Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Giddy's passing. It's sad to communicate on such occasions when communications have gone non-existant for many years. But, you and your family are in my prayers.

Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal; Love leaves memories that no one can steal.

My sincere sympathies are extended to the family of Robert King.
When I was young, Robert was one of my heroes. He was two years ahead of me in school, and I first remember him playing basketball of the Giles JV team when he was in the 9th grade and I was in the 7th. He was tall, lean, and athletic and an extremely talented player.
1964-65 was also the first year of racial integration in the Giles County schools, and Robert's talents and gregarious personality helped ease what could have been a tense situation. He was also in my mother's 9th Grade English class, and I frequently heard from her what a good student and interesting individual he was.
Later, as the center on the varsity basketball team, he lead Giles into the Top 10 in Timesland and was larely responsible for what are probably still the two best seasons in the school's history.
Unfortunately, he suffered a severe knee injury playing football during his senior year of high school, cutting short what would probably have been a phenomenonal senior season and a successful college career.
I was his teammate his last year at Giles and it was an inspiration to be around him, hobbled though he was.
May he rest in peace.
