My sincere sympathies are extended to the family of Robert King.

When I was young, Robert was one of my heroes. He was two years ahead of me in school, and I first remember him playing basketball of the Giles JV team when he was in the 9th grade and I was in the 7th. He was tall, lean, and athletic and an extremely talented player.

1964-65 was also the first year of racial integration in the Giles County schools, and Robert's talents and gregarious personality helped...
