Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Hatfield Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Jerome D. Hatfield US Marine Master Sergeant. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

Dear Mrs.Hatfield,
My name is D. Brown. Master Sgt. Hatfield, back then (Gunny), was my Sr. drill instructor for Plt 1010 graduation date 2-14-2004. I was the guide and he kept me focused when I became discouraged. He always offered words of encouragement when I wanted to quit. He would always tell me "Brown the pain you feel here is temporary, being a Marine will be forever" and that always stuck with me. If something is hard to do, don't quit because the reward will be that much better knowing you worked hard. Its good to know Heaven has one of the best Marines guarding the gates.
God bless.

Prayer for Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen

To the Hatfield family,
It has taken me a while to figure out what I could say to you in your time of loss...I still can't come up with the words to express my sincerest condolences.
Master Sergeant Hatfield was a major part in my getting to the point I am at right now in my career in the Marine Corps. He helped me daily with overcoming obstacles I was facing no matter what he may have been dealing with in his on life during our last deployment to Iraq. He was always the first to help his fellow Marine in their time of need. I was only able to enjoy his company for a short while after returning home and as I sit here thinking of the times we had over the past two years I can only wish that we had done more.
I can only hope that you will be able to take comfort in knowing that he was the finest of men and the highest caliber of Marine I have ever had the privilege of knowing. May God be with you and your family during your trials and help you thru these tough times. You are all in my families prayers.
He will never be forgotten!

Here is a poem i wrote when i lost my loved one..
ANGRY:
Don't tell me that you understand,
Don't tell me that you know.
Don't tell me that i will survive,
How i will surely grow.
Don't tell me tis is just a test,
That i am truly blessed,
That i am chosen for this task,
Apart from all the rest.
Don't come at me with answers
That can only come from me,
Don't tell me how my grief will pass
That i will soon be free.
Don't Stand in pious judgment
Of bonds I must untie,
Don't tell me how to suffer,
Don;t tell me how to cry.
My life is filled with selfishness,
My pain is all i see,
But I need you, I need your love,
Unconditionally.
Accept me in my ups and downs,
I need someone to share,
Just hold my hand and let me cry,
And say,"My friend, i care."
Sometimes all we need is someone to listen!..
may god bless you and your families in Your time of NEED!

Dear family of Master Sgt. Jerome D. Hatfield, I am so sorry for the loss of your hero. He was a hero in many ways to many people. He was helping to maintain our freedoms and helping to bring freedoms to those that have never known freedom before. I send many packages to contacts listed at AnySoldier.com. Your Jerome, being a volunteer contact for Any Soldier.com, was an angel to many in the field. He cared enough for his unit to help pass out mail to those who maybe did not receive any or as much mail as others. Helping them to know that they were supported, cared for and prayed for by us at home in the USA. What a true hero. Freedom isn’t free.
Thank you Master Sgt. Jerome D. Hatfield. We miss you greatly.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to MSgt Jerome Hatfield our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Jerry. And to Jerry it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Jerry, you are a brave Marine Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
