Joe Wallace Obituary

Joe Edmund Wallace, 76, of Fairfield, died Tuesday July 28, 2009. He was born February 14, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late Harry Odus Wallace and Edna George Wallace. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Lou Knight Wallace. He was a member of the Wheelersburg United Methodist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of VFW Post 1499. Surviving are two daughters, Whitney W. Huffman and husband, Ward, of Fairfield and Shelley W. Claus and husband, Scott, of Chesterfield; a sister, Harriett W. Miller, of Grove City, Ohio; four grandchildren, Cole Huffman, Grace Huffman, Griffin Claus and Molly Claus. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Sandra C. Bottoms officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Rockbridge Community Unit, Box 100, Lexington, VA 24450. Arrangements by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va.
