Eloise Young Obituary

Eloise Ralph Young, 95, of Vinton, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, July 30, 2009. Eloise was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she served as organist for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin F. Young, who was the owner of Young's Supermarket in Salem for many years. Eloise is survived by her children, Donna Y. Lavinder and husband, Richard, of Vinton, the Rev. Paige A. Young and wife, Sylvia, of Fredricksburg, and Dayle Y. Winfrey and husband, Spencer, of Ironto; her grandchildren, Kimberly L. Gaking and husband, Larry, of Roanoke, Richard P. Lavinder and wife, Jacqueline, of High Springs, Fla., Paige A. Young Jr. and wife, Teresa, of Mechanicsville, and Grace Y. Fell and husband, Brian, of Mechanicsville; and six greatgrandchildren. A graveside service will be held 3:30 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2009, in Sherwood Memorial Park with the Rev. John W. Fox officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 2, 2009, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 540-982-2221.

Donna, Richard, Rich and Kim: I am so sorry to hear of of your loss and only wish I could have known sooner so that I may have been of some comfort to your family. Mrs. Young was always a delight for me to be with, so kind and dignified and I'll always cherish her memory. You are in our prayers.
