Jerome Barr

Jerome Barr, 91 of Roanoke, Va., died on Tuesday evening, August 4, 2009. He was the retired part owner of Barr Brothers Jewelers. Mr. Barr was a member of Temple Emanuel, a member and volunteer at S.C.O.R.E. (Service Corps of Retired Executives), and a member and volunteer for the American Red Cross. Surviving is his wife, Shirley P. Barr; a brother, Dr. Charles E. Barr, of Guilford, Conn.; three nieces, Nancy Hochberger, Sheryl Rice, and Vivienne Braun; and five nephews, Robert Fox, Stephen Barr, Daniel Piller, John Piller, and Mike Piller. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2009, from Temple Emanuel with Rabbi Kathy Cohen officiating.
