She loved the wildlife and would feed the birds and squirrels. She also had names for every one of her doves. The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses in the Infusion Center at Lewis Gale Medical Center and to Dr. Mark Curry for their kindness and compassion. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Dora Farmer; and brother, Harrington Farmer. She is survived by her daughters, Janena "Kay" Butterworth and Vanessa Ann Oliver; brother, Roby Junior Farmer and Yvonne; sister, Ruby Mann and husband, Merritt; five grandchildren, Travis, Dwayne, Dora, Breanna, and Contessa; one greatgranddaughter, Aryana; sisterin-law, Sandy Farmer; special friends, Bob and Elaine Kidd, of West Virginia; former husband and father of her children, Charles Oliver and wife, Gaye; former mothers-in-law, Geneve Martin and Letha Justice; two former sons-in-law, John Butterworth and Doyle Guilliams; numerous nieces and nephews; and her daytime companion, her dog, Cupid. Brenda was a very special person and I am glad to have known her for as long as I did. I will always remember the times I spent with her and her delicious cooking.

To all of Brenda's (my) family; I would like to thank everyone who included me in the loss of a beautiful woman who was my friend. Losing her is such a loss to everyone because she left a piece of herself with everyone who met & knew her. I have missed my friend for 30 years since life took us on different paths. She was that girl I grew up with. As I listened to all the people talk of their memories of her I was thankful mine goes back further than most of her loved ones have had birthdays. She was a lady first & foremost and displayed such grace, yet she could also be a little mischievous (I know because I participated).I cry for what never again will be but I rejoice she has gone to be with our Father. I give this family my heart to mourn with you & my prayers to strengthen you but most of all...thanks for not forgetting me. Love you all. Sissy-

I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Brenda was a lovely woman who would do anything to help anyone. She always took such great care of my grandmother, and I miss her so much! I always enjoyed chatting with her at the kitchen table and eating her delicious food! Please know that she meant so much to me, and she will not be forgotten!
