My earliest memories of my cousin Doris are the Deaton-Trout family reunions in the mid and and late 1950's. She always seemed to me to be in charge, but never "bossy". I've always known her to be a warm, caring person, a lot like my Uncle Willy and Aunt Myrtle. I extend my condolences to all her family for their loss. She will truly be missed by all of us.

Ira, Dawn, Greg and family --

Your mother was a cornerstone of Williamson Road Church, and it will never be quite the same without her there. She was my Sunday School teacher, a warm welcoming presence at every service and a dear friend to my mom, Iris. My heart goes out to you all.

Greg & Dawn & Your Families,

Your mother was one of the dearest ladies I have ever known in my life. She loved everyone and they loved her in return. She was such a kind person. She was always ready to give a comforting word - I can only imagine what kind of nurse she was. May your many wonderful memories be a comfort to you now and in all the days ahead.

I can see the smile on her face when she would mention that great-granddaughter. My granddaughters never failed to give her a BIG hug when they were at church and she claimed them as her "church grandchildren" and her love was so obvious!

Somehow, these words do not express how dear your mother was and how much she will be missed.

Love and sympathy to you and your families.

Ira,

This is Charlene Crouch Harvey, sister
of Charles Crouch, Jr. I offer my heartfelt sympathy. I, too, have lost
a very dear family member this year.
My husband passed away on April 25, and
I have missed him so much. He had not
been well for almost a year. He had
heart sugery on June 2, 2008, and then
suffered a stroke the next night. For
most of the summer of 2008 he did not
know anything. After he did awake he
had therapy until February 4 of this
year when he came home. We had such high hopes he would return to his usual self. That was not meant to be.
The Lord knew this and called him home. Our daughter, and Charlie's two
girls and his niece from N.C. were with me as that is all my family now.
I have not attended any Golden Colonels for so long due to this. Please know that I offer my sympathy to your entire family.

Ira: Iam deeply sorry to learn of Doris' death. Thinking of the two of you brings back a lot of memories.

August 11, 2009

Sunday evening I was going through some pictures and found one of Doris and Reba Jones. I was wondering how they were doing. Remembering how they had been my first Sunday School teachers at WRCOB. As years went by Doris became more than my teacher, she became a friend. I always enjoyed spending catch up time with Doris and Ira at annual conference.

Doris blessed my life and for that I am thankful. She will be missed.

Love and hugs to her family and friends.

In God's grip.

My heart felt sympathy goes out to Doris' family and to the Williams Road COB. She was a very Sweet lady. I will miss her helping with dolls and bears for the Salvation Army's Christmas Program.

My prayers go out to the family and her Church Family. She will be missed by all. May our Lord and Savior and your memories bring you comfort in the coming days.

Most Sincerely,
Priscilla Carter
